Happy New Year, are we still saying that? Either way, I hope 2020 has gotten off to a great start where ever in the world you are.
2019 was yet another crazy crazy year! In fact, it was probably the most intense year we’ve ever had. The first part of the year we were desperately trying to get the house finished (see last years post ref home extension) before the latest addition to the family arrived, and then he did. Our beautiful Jude was born in April and as with the previous 2 before him, our world got flipped upside down once again.
He has two 2 doting sisters and couldn’t have settled into our family life any better. As any new parent knows, it’s exhausting and with a thousand jobs still to do on the house it’s been a challenging but hugely rewarding 8 months. I must, first of all, say a huge thank you to my partner in crime, Sarah. She went full Wonder Woman for Jude’s birth and has been an absolute rock ever since. She’s culled and edited tens of thousands of images and even let me sleep in the spare room on the nights before weddings. 💛
Despite all of that 2019 was an exceptional year for weddings, I got to go to some absolute corkers and have once again been blown away by just how many kind, funny, and downright bloody lovely people I get to meet by doing this job. I’ve received testimonials that have brought me to tears and have made some genuine friends along the way. I got to visit some amazing venues and also took my first trip up to Scotland for a wedding, so I’d like to say the biggest Thank You to every single couple that put their trust in me and let me be a samll part of their wedding day.
So, 2020! Once again it’s shaping up to be fantastic. We already have a load of brilliant weddings lined up, two of which see me get the passport out again and hop over the channel to France, which I cannot wait for.
This will be year number 8 for us and I can honestly say that I still get the same nervous energy and excitement before every wedding as I did back in 2013, I still feel incredibly fortunate to do something I love for work and blessed that I get such brilliant couples to work with. Here’s to the next decade!!
As always, a favourite image or two from every wedding of 2019. xxx
