I absolutely love weddings, I really do. To be honest you couldn’t do this job if you didn’t.
For half of the year I get up every weekend and go to one, sometimes two and on the rare occasion three! I don’t get to drink champagne or socialise to any great extent but that is fine, the people I meet and get to shoot every week is what keeps me inspired. All weddings are special and full of emotion and fun but some just go supersonic, this was one of them.
I met Beth & Sam in the summer of 2014 when they invited me to their house in Cardiff for beers, they instantly appeared genuine, warm and down to earth. It’s fair to say we clicked pretty quickly.
Fast forward to March this year and they’re amazing pre-wedding shoot in the Brecons. It became obvious then that their wedding would be pretty special. They were so comfortable in front of the camera and clearly head over heels in love with each other. Two things that certainly make my job easier.
The wedding eventually rolled around and well, it blew me away if I’m honest. The Peter Pan theme and details were crazy good, Beth, Sam and the whole wedding party looked amazing and the forest location of Pencoed House was perfect. However, all of that was out shone by the tears, laughs (proper belly laughs), crazy best man raps and some of the lovliest people I’ve had the pleasure of shooting. Sam won’t mind me saying that he definitely wears his heart on his sleeve, his reaction to seeing Beth appear at the end of the aisle is up there with my favourite ever moments.
Big thanks to my brilliant second shooter for the day – Jamie Waters
This one was pure gold…
A very magical day, that was full of laughter, joy and emotion. I am a very proud Mum to my darling Beth and now gorgeous Sam. The photographs capture perfectly a day that will live long and shine brightly in my memory. Many thanks Matt for your inspirational photography.
Thank you Sue, we absolutely adored they’re day and you all made it that little bit more special. 🙂
